"He is one of the best strikers Liverpool have ever had. You could see in every training session and every game you played with him that he was still one of the best finishers in the world," said the Dutch international.
"You can learn from every player, but especially Robbie. As a striker, you only have to watch him to learn.
"I only played one year with Robbie but I saw he was a really good player, but also a good human. I learned a lot from him in that year, not only on the pitch but also off it.
"He was a wonderful person. He always tried to stay normal, never a celebrity, and was one of those people who'd really try to help you when you first arrived at the club. He was a typical Liverpudlian like Stevie and Carra."
