Kyle Walker Quickly Deletes Twitter Dig at Liverpool Following Reds Draw With Leicester

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker quickly deleted a tweet which seemed to mock Jürgen Klopp's side for dropping two points against Leicester City on Wednesday.

Harry Maguire cancelled out Sadio Mané's opener at Anfield to ensure that the points were shared, a huge boost for Walker's Manchester City given that they slipped up on the road to Newcastle United 24 hours earlier.

Walker appeared to be eager to revel in Liverpool's misfortunes by resurrecting a meme of England international teammate Maguire, which did the rounds during the World Cup.

The Manchester City star added the caption "So basically they thought they were gonna go 7 points ahead..." onto the picture of Maguire, who was famously snapped talking to his family following England's quarter-final win over Sweden.

Within moments of posting, Walker quickly opted to delete his post, most likely following advice from his frantic and panicked media team - but not quickly enough to stop fans getting a screenshot.

Walker's tweet seemed like nothing more than a joke with England teammate Maguire - the Leicester City star even replied before it was deleted - and wasn't intended to be poking fun at Liverpool for dropping points.

Because despite failing to win, Liverpool actually increased their lead over chasers City at the top of the Premier League table following the most recent round of fixtures.

It's clear to see what Walker's intention was with his Tweet, but perhaps his advisors should recommend him to stick to the WhatsApp groups from now on and leave the generic "Ready for Saturday *inserts trendy emoji*" posts to his media team.
