Larsson's advice for crocked Cisse

The Swedish striker suffered a double-leg break when at Celtic three years ago.

"As soon as I heard about Cisse's injury I thought: 'Oh no, poor guy'," said Larsson. "It's unbelievable. I have been there and I knew exactly what he was going through and it did bring back memories of my own leg break against Lyon in 1999.

"It's an horrific injury and there is no easy thing to say at this stage. The fact is that it is a long road back and there aren't really any short cuts.

"But I made a great recovery and my former Celtic team-mate Stilian Petrov made a great recovery from his injury, so I'd like Djibril to know that it is possible to come back as fit as before.

"The most important advice I could give to him right now is to accept what has happened and to listen to his body. It's easy to be angry and depressed when something like this happens, but you have to get your mind to the right place.

"There will be times when everything seems hopeless and you want to give up, but they are the times when you really need to knuckle down.

"The first three months aren't too bad because during that time you make a lot of progress. The really tough part starts just after that because that is when the progress takes a pause.

"Initially, the important thing is to get good advice and I'm sure Djibril is getting that either at Liverpool or in France.

"You have to take all the advice the professionals give you and push yourself. Rest when you need to rest and keep building up your strength."
