Last chance for Vladi

"I knew that manager could see me at the end of the season and say there's no more place for me here," he said. "I expected that and if he'd said that I would have taken it as it was. After last season if it had happened it wouldn't have surprised me."

"At the start of last season I expected a lot from me, I put myself under a lot of pressure. I really felt good last season at the start and I thought it was going to be my season when I would make an impact. But it wasn't to be. When I broke my toe I was nearly two months out and after that it was so difficult.

"But that's all finished for me now, I can start again this season and hope for a better season. I would like just to enjoy this season and work hard for the team.

"This is the season when I've got one more chance and I think this is going to be my last chance. But that's okay. This season will answer the question over whether I can handle it or not."

Can Smicer improve this season?
