The Reds have not won at Stamford Bridge since 1990 and have lost on their last six visits without scoring a single goal. One would expect such statistics to fill 34-year-old Le Saux with great confidence ahead of this Sunday's Champions League decider. The former England player, though, feels that past results will have no bearing when kick-off arrives.
Le Saux said: "It's all teed up for a fantastically exciting match and when you're a player records are just there to be broken. Some may use a record like that to try and gain the upper hand but it won't really affect the game.
"Liverpool have quality players and will be very hard to break down - but we're lucky that we know what we have to do."
