The French player, who had been on loan at St Etienne until recently, said he was very happy with the result and the opportunity he was given.
"First of all I am delighted to have made my first appearance in the Champions League. Then I am pleased with my performance. I came on as a substitute but tried my hardest," he said.
"Unfortunately we conceded a goal at the end, but I think we will be able to keep our lead in the return leg," he added.
