Le Tallec determined to leave

Le Tallec was signed for Liverpool by Gerard Houllier along with Florent Sinama-Pongolle in 2001. Both players arrived at Anfield in 2003 after spending two years on loan at Le Harve.

While Pongolle has had some success at Anfield, Le Tallec has barely featured under Rafael Benitez and was sent on loan at the start of Benitez's first season and for all of last season. The French under 21 international is now hoping for a move back to the French league.

"I have no idea about my future yet. I will see after the Under-21 European Championship. But I don't think I will stay at Liverpool," said Le Tallec.

"I will ask for a transfer because I still have three years remaining on my contract and I don't want to be loaned any more. I want stability.

"A comeback to France is obviously my priority. I have first contacts, as with Paris St Germain, but nothing has been settled so far.

"It is true Bordeaux are a good club - competitive and with a great environment. Moreover, there is the Champions League. I would really like to go there."
