Lee expects tough game

Burnley were many people's favourites for relegation but have already beaten Man Utd and Everton this season. Sammy Lee says he wasn't suprised to see the play-off winners doing so well and expects a tough game this weekend.

"Burnley's start has not been surprising - we know about them and the quality they have," said the assistant boss.

"Owen Coyle has got them working very, very hard for each other and we know they'll be a difficult proposition when they come to Anfield.

"We'll be up against a difficult side who are well organised, good on the counter-attack and have proven they can finish chances.

"We'll be going forward too, so we have to make sure when we do we close the back door and don't get hit by a counter-attack or a set piece.

"We have to make sure we are focused on the job in hand - we know what we have to do. I know it's an old cliché, but we've got to take it one game at a time and try to get on a roll.

"It has been a mixed start to the season and we're fully aware of that, so rather than look too far ahead, we're going to make sure that the next game is the most vital one for us - which is at home to Burnley and we need to try and take maximum points."
