Leeds deny Smith rumours

Reports in the Sunday press claimed that the 22-year-old would be the latest star name to leave the Elland Road sinking ship. Ridsdale, though, insists that Smith will remain a Leeds player.

Ridsdale said: "Alan has just signed a five-year contract. If I am still chairman I fully expect him to be at Leeds United next season and for many years to come. He is simply not for sale."
