Premiership rivals Leeds United have been dealt a blow after it was confimed that they will be without striker Robbie Fowler for the first few months of the season.

The former Liverpool ace has had to undergo an operation on his long running hip injury despite the fact the new Premiership campaign is only a couple of weeks away.
