Leeds star pleased with Liverpool win

Speaking on his own website, Harte said: "Liverpool's victory over Manchester United was great for them but it was also good for us and for the rest of the teams fighting near the top of the Premiership. By ending Manchester United's 10-match unbeaten run, Liverpool have kept it tight at the top.

"It stopped the Old Trafford side from opening up a nice little gap at the top. Had they beaten Liverpool they would have been five points ahead of second-placed Newcastle and eight up on Liverpool and nine on ourselves. As it is now their lead at the top is only two points over Liverpool and they are only three points better off than Leeds. Newcastle and ourselves have a game in hand so the competition up there is very close."
