Litmanen given permission to speak to Turks

If you read the site late last night or early this morning you'd have discovered that Jari Litmanen had been given permission to talk to Galatasaray regarding a possible transfer.

That news has now been confirmed by the club, although they insist the player has to report back and that he hasn't cleared out his locker.

Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton droaned: "We can confirm that we have been approached by Galatasaray and have given them permission to speak with Jari."
