Liverpool had scouts at Ibrox this evening to see two potential summer recruits in action.

Ibrox
Scotland's finest
Rangers were playing host to Feyenoord in the UEFA Cup and two players that the Reds have monitored for some time were in action.

Feyenoord's *Brett Emerton and Rangers captain *Barry Ferguson were the centre of attention. Both players have been identified as possible squad additions in the summer with Ferguson tipped to replace Gary McAllister and Emerton seen as the much needed strength on the right side of the park, either in midfield or as an attacking defender.

If no other better options become available in the summer and suitable transfer fees can be agreed, they could be making their way to Anfield but the axe would have to fall first with doubts hanging over several players.

The game ended 1-1 with Ferguson securing a late equaliser.

Scouts from Leeds, Newcastle, Arsenal and Spurs were also in attendance. Newcastle are after Emerton with Arsenal showing serious interest in Ferguson.

Rangers: Klos, Fernando Ricksen, Lorenzo Amoruso, Arthur Numan, Konterman, Tony Vidmar, Barry Ferguson, Stephen Hughes (Latapy 82), Caniggia, Tore-Andre Flo (Mols 59), Peter Lovenkrands.

Feyenoord: Zoetebier, Brett Emerton, Glenn Loovens, Tomasz Rzasa, Kees van Wonderen, Paul Bosvelt, Shinji Ono, Patrick Paauwe, Jon Dahl Tomasson, Pierre van Hooijdonk, Bonaventure Kalou (Van Persie 58).
