Liverpool CEO Ian Ayre has announced that he is leaving the club and will join 1860 Munich.
The 53-year-old joined Liverpool in 2007 as commercial director, then in 2011 he became managing director and was made chief executive in 2013.
"This has always been more than just a job for me because of the emotional connection with the place," he said
"I was a Liverpool fan my whole life but people say to me ‘it must be your dream job’ but I never dreamed of having it until that phone call 10 years ago.”
