Liverpool have confirmed that Michael Owen will be fit to face Sunderland after scan results showed that he only bruised his foot last night.
Spokesman Ian Cotton said told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Michael was sent for an x-ray this afternoon as a precaution and it confirmed our initial thoughts that he had only suffered bruising to his right foot. Michael will be available for this Saturday's game at Sunderland."
