Former Egypt international Mido has enraged Liverpool fans by saying that Mohamed Salah could be tempted by a move to Spanish giants Barcelona or Real Madrid.
After scoring a monumental 44 goals last season, Salah has continued in similar vein this campaign with 16 goals and eight assists to his name already.
However, whilst Salah's form is a positive for Liverpool's title chances, Mido believes that it will start to attract the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid. The former Middlesborough striker went on to suggest that the allure of the two Spanish giants would be too much for Salah to resist.
Speaking to CNN, Mido explained:
In terms of interest from Real Madrid
In reaction to Mido's claims, Liverpool fans were quick to point both of these facts out. Here they are dismissing the link to Barcelona:
He's forgetting Barca can't sign one of our players without paying a premium

I’m assuming that Mido doesn’t know about the £100m premium that Barca would have to pay on top of the £250m he would command in today’s market.

The Reds' fans can't see Salah in Madrid white either:
Barca have to pay a premium and Ramos hates Salah, no story here

Imagine Salah on the same team as Ramos.... can’t see it somehow. Also Barca haven’t even completed the Courtinho payments, doubt they will go after Salah

This fan was particularly adamant that Salah wouldn't be going anywhere:
Salah is loved and adored at us he knows the grass ain’t always greener. He’s a major player for us. We won’t sell him, he won’t want to leave ! Issue closed

After starting the season somewhat slowly by the standards he set last season, Salah has re-found his form at the perfect moment for Liverpool. The Egyptian forward has scored six goals in his last six league games, providing a further three assists.
Salah's goalscoring form has seen Jurgen Klopp's side open up a four-point gap at the top of the Premier League table. Should Liverpool win the Premier League this season, their talismanic number 11 will have played a huge role.
After a great December - @MoSalah & @VirgilvDijk are both nominated for the @premierleague Player of the Month award.
