Liverpool fear long term layoff for Isak

Liverpool are awaiting medical results amid concerns that record signing Alexander Isak suffered a broken leg during the weekend victory over Tottenham.

The mood at Anfield has been dampened today as the club faces the possibility of being without star striker Alexander Isak for several months.

The Swedish international was forced off during Saturday’s 2-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur immediately after scoring the opening goal.

Isak was caught in a sliding challenge by Micky van de Ven and left the pitch in significant distress.

Manager Arne Slot admitted his "gut feeling" was negative after seeing the player unable to continue.

With Mohamed Salah already away at the Africa Cup of Nations, a confirmed fracture for Isak would leave Liverpool’s attacking options severely depleted heading into a crucial run of fixtures in early 2026.
