Liverpool have confirmed that German defender Markus Babbel is back in light training.
Markus has finally overcome the debilitating illness Guillain-Barre syndrome which has sidelined him for months.
Assistant boss Phil Thompson said: "Markus is an extremely popular person in the dressing room and the lads were delighted to see him back. He is now back to light training which is good news for everyone.
"It will be next season before he can play again so we are not going to get carried away just yet but it's great to have him here."
