Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy says he and team-mate Steven Gerrard are on course to return to pre-season training on Wednesday 10th July.
Murphy (foot) and Gerrard (groin) were both ruled out of the World Cup due to injury and they've spent the summer trying to regain their fitness while the rest of the lads were in Korea and Japan or on their holidays.
"The crutches are finished with and I've started walking properly again this week. Now I'm starting to do some fitness work," said Murphy.
"I hope to be starting preseason with the others on July 10th. The worst case scenario would be to wait another week but I don't think that will be necessary.
"The good thing, from a Liverpool point of view, is the knock won't set me back too much."
He added: "Stevie is flying. He's running already now. Like me, he will be fine for the start of pre-season."
