Liverpool have bid accepted for Bowyer

Leeds United have accepted a bid from Liverpool for Lee Bowyer - but the media are guessing as to what the actual fee is.

The club have given Bowyer permission to speak to the Reds and talks on Merseyside are expected to be held later in the week.

Although the amount of the actual bid has not been confirmed as yet, media sources quote it at between £7m and £10m.

Liverpool's interest in Lee Bowyer was first discussed on the Insider earlier this year and subsequently dismissed as nonsense when first published on the main Kop Talk site.

The Sunday Times last weekend published the outcome of our poll in which 69.9% of Liverpool fans said Gerard Houllier should try and sign him.
