Former Liverpool star Jason McAteer has today issued a stark warning to the club regarding the future of left-back Andy Robertson.
With the Scottish defender's contract set to expire next summer, McAteer argued that allowing Robertson to leave would be a "major loss" for the club, even if he were to seek a move to Celtic.
Robertson is reportedly relaxed about his future, but the club has been warned against letting a player of his caliber depart for nothing, suggesting Liverpool should offer him the option to stay or facilitate a negotiated move.
Press: "When you were growing up Andy, were you Liverpool or were you Real Madrid? What type of football would have appealed to you?"
