Liverpool looking for Russian favour

The Reds travel to Switzerland next week with qualification to the next phase of the Champions League as yet uncertain, and tonights match, originally postponed due to the Moscow siege, will determine the result that Liverpool need in order to do so.

Liverpool find themselves two points ahead of third placed Basle, who would go second if they managed to secure all three points in the Dynamo Stadium.

If Basle were to win then Liverpool would go to Switzerland needing a victory. On the other hand defeat or a draw for Christian Gross' men would mean that a Liverpool draw would be sufficient next week.

Basle go into the match of the back of a thrilling 5-3 over FC Zurich at the weekend. They defeated Spartak 2-0 in September at home.
