Cristobal Curro Torres put the visitors ahead on 72 minutes and it looked like the group leaders would take all thre points until Ergic popped up for his second of the game in the dying seconds.
The result leaves Valencia top of Group B on 10 points, followed by Liverpool on 7, FC Basel on 4 and Spartak Moscow without any.
