Nunez said: "I know it is quite a few years since Liverpool last won the League title and were winning the European Cup, but they are still seen in Europe as one of the great clubs.
"Their past is legendary. They are one of the world's most historic clubs and the players that have been brought together by the manager want to show that Liverpool are still a major force to be feared.
"They are a lot of new players here, a new manager and we have had injuries. We're still learning but I think we have the ingredients to bring more success to the club."
