Liverpool to play Wrexham

The side is unlikely to include any of the international stars who will have taken part in the World Cup Finals, but the match should help the League Two club's financial problems.

"Over the past two years since we have been in administration, Liverpool have been superb with us," said Wrexham manager Denis Smith.

"They have provided us with a lifeline now in each of the last two years and we are very grateful for their friendship."

The Reds will play Crewe Alexander a week later on 22nd July, before a training trip abroad (possibly Switzerland again).
