Liverpool v Leicester Match Preview

Last updated : 18 September 2003 By LFC Online
Newly-promoted Leicester were without a win this season until their 4-0 demolition of Leeds on Monday night.

Liverpool also had a dodgy start, but wins over Everton and Blackburn in their last two games have bumped them up the table and given the fans something to cheer about.

Injuries to Jamie Carragher and Milan Baros took the shine off last Saturday's win at Ewood Park, but Gerard Houllier will be hoping to continue the positive form that has been shown of late.

Team News

Steven Gerrard is expected to be passed fit for Saturday's game at Anfield after limping off the field at Blackburn.

Emile Heskey is expected to replace Baros alongside Michael Owen in attack.

John Arne Riise will play left back in Carragher's absence and Anthony Le Tallec will be pushing for a second successive substitute appearance after a sensational debut for the reserves on Tuesday night.
