The last time Liverpool played Manchester United at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon was the 1996 FA Cup final. The last time the teams played at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon in the league was at Anfield in the 1992/3 season.

Although a 3pm Saturday afternoon kick off will be welcomed by match goers it is a sorry indication of where Houllier's Liverpool is going when there is no interest in a game like this.
