Djibril Cisse and Michael Owen were the scorers as Liverpool came from 1-0 down to beat Roma 2-1 in another impressive performance from the Reds.
Igor Biscan again played like a man possessed in the first half, showing the kind of form that earned him a £5.5m move to Liverpool, while new boy Josemi was the Reds' best player in the second half, defending and linking up with his team-mates well and always looking a threat going forward.
A good night's work for the Reds was spoiled slightly by an injury to Steven Gerrard who was withdrawn six minutes before half time.
