Liverpool youngster nets as Bantams crash

Last updated : 20 October 2002 By
Liverpool youngster Stephen Warnock netted Bradford's only goal as they went down 2-1 to Sheffield Wednesday today.

Midfielder Warnock, who was awarded the number 35 shirt at the start of this season, fired home the equaliser with an 18 yard strike after a poor clearance by the Wednesday defence.

His joy, however, was shortlived with the home side netting the winner just three minutes from time from the penalty spot.

Elsewhere Richie Partridge helped Coventry City to a 1-1 draw at Divison One table toppers Portsmouth.
