And Marseille Chairman, Pape Diouf, still believes he has a good chance of bringing the French international to L'Om despite Cisse' recent form at Anfield.
"Cisse would suit Marseille and he says Marseille would suit him. However, he goes on playing at Liverpool and scoring," Diouf said.
"But before winter transfer window, things can change. For us, he can be the perfect reinforcement."
And the chairman added that he believed that there was now little chance of Marseille signing Milan player Filippo Inzaghi, furthering the speculation that L'Om have all eyes on Cisse.
"I called Ariedo Braida, Milan's sporting director, but he explained to me his club can't part with Inzaghi, because they need all their forwards," Diouf added.
