The Reds visit bottom of the table Portsmouth tomorrow and Lucas is expecting it to be a tough match after Pompey gave Chelsea a hard time in midweek.
"We know our supporters are always with us and it's important we take the three points for them on Saturday," he said.
"I haven't played at Portsmouth before so I am looking forward to it. They played really well at Chelsea on Wednesday night and they only lost 2-1 so we know it will be a hard game.
"They are fighting for their lives but we have to keep our winning mentality and keep working really hard to get the three points.
"We will try to be compact and be strong, especially mentally because we need to keep our confidence up and keep it going."
