Last week's defeat at West Ham was a huge disappointment so it was pleasing to see the Reds quickly bounce back with an impressive 3-1 win over Man Utd this weekend.
"We knew we had a poor performance against West Ham, and we had a great opportunity to start winning again," said Lucas.
"We showed that we have a very good team, and that we can compete against anyone.
"It was not easy, I think we made the game easier. We started well, just like we did against West Ham.
"But this time we kept it going for 90 minutes – even if we could have defended better in the last minute.
"The team has confidence, we know we can compete and win against anyone.
"Kenny spoke with us in the team meeting and said we should only worry about ourselves, and that if we play as we can then we would win. And that’s what happened."
