Liverpool midfielder Gary McAllister has accepted Coventry City's invitation to return as their next manager providing he can find a suitable assistant to be his number two.
Although his contract doesn't expire until the summer, the Reds won't stand in his way and they will officially release him as soon as they no longer require him as back-up.
