McManaman said: "I wasn't aware he ended a drought against us last season. Michael won't worry about his goals and I certainly won't. If he doesn't score against us then he will score in the next game.
"I played in the first game he played as a 17 year-old and he scored then. He hasn't stopped scoring since. He's going to play until the day he retires and keep scoring goals because he is a fantastic footballer.
"People say he's going through a drought, but that's what centre forwards do. Half the time you are a victim of your own success."
