The former Lens striker has attracted more headlines for his off-field antics than he has for his frustrating performances on the pitch since signing for the Reds for a £10m fee following a series of dazzling displays for his country in World Cup 2002.
Liverpool will struggle to even claw back a third of that inflated price-tag but they may be keen to offload another underperforming high-earner now that interest in Diouf has been announced.
Malaga director of sport Manolo Ruiz Hierro said: "Diouf is a player who we like a lot and who would fit into our style of play very well."
