He said: "I definitely don't want to leave. I don't want to give up on my dream of making it at Anfield. If there is interest from other clubs, my stance is straightforward enough. I don't want to go," he said.

The Liverpool striker also admitted, however, that he still has some way to go to make it as an Anfield regular, despite that wonder goal against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

He said: "I'm still waiting for my first chant from the Kop, so I know I still have some way to go. That goal can't do me any harm when it comes to staying in the side, particularly with the injuries we've got."

He added: "The manager showed faith in me by putting me in against one of the best sides in Europe. He didn't have to. There were other options and that was a big positive for me."
