Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has been called-up into the England squad by Sven-Goran Eriksson but Steven Gerrard might not be on the plane to Japan after all.
The FA have today stated that Gerrard may require immediate and urgent surgery following his substitution at Anfield yesterday, to try and correct his injury problems.
Keiron Dyer is almost certainly out of the World Cup finals say the FA but conflicting reports at noon today (by his agent) suggest he will be ok. West Ham midfielder Trevor Sinclair has been placed on stand-by following Murphy's call-up.
