McAuley disappointed with reserves defeat

"We're very disappointed to have lost the game and I don't think we deserved to come away with nothing," he said.

"We started the game well and created some good chances. At half time we could have been two or three goals up because I thought we were the better side.

"Newcastle, to their credit, came back at us after the break and it was frustrating from our point of view that we couldn't keep them out.

"They scored a couple of good goals but we think we could have dealt with them better from a defensive point of view."
