McFarland to return?

McFarland left Liverpool eighteen months ago to join Bolton as assistant to Sammy Lee. He then joined Watford following Lee's sacking as Trotters boss.

Rafa Benitez would like McFarland back at Anfield, possibly as a director of football, taking over some of Rick Parry's duties such as negotiating new signings and renewing contracts according to today's Daily Mirror.
