Medjani joins French exodus

The French influence on Merseyside was, of course, initially weakened by the decision to part company with Gerard Houllier, and the Reds have since loaned Bruno Cheyrou to Marseile, Alou Diarra to Lens, granted young starlet Anthony Le Tallec's wish to find a club to spend next season, preferred Paul Harrison to Gallic goalkeeper Patrice Luzi as third choice, and allowed Gregory Vignal to go on trial with Glasgow Rangers.

19-year-old Medjani, along with Le Tallec, is thought to have a bright future with the Reds and would be expected to return to the fold after gaining valuable first-team experience with Lorient.
