Mellor linked with Crewe move

The Liverpool striker had an unsuccessful loan spell with West Ham this season, but was on fire for Liverpool reserves when he returned in February, despite being ineligible to play for the first team.

"Neil would be a great signing for us and he would be a big difference to my side's goal threat," confirmed Crewe boss Dario Gradi.

With the imminent arrival of Djibril Cisse from Auxerre, Mellor's first team chances will still be limited and a loan spell may be the best option in the short term assuming he gets regular first team football with the Alex.
