Mellor linked with Hammers

The West Ham boss has contacted Gerard Houllier about the possibility of taking the striker on loan for the season, after Frederic Kanoute's move to Spurs.

Mellor has been unable to gain regular first team football despite impressing for the reserves last season and would no doubt benefit from a loan spell in Division One.

What should Houllier do with Mellor?
