"He is such a lovely lad and the other players are delighted for him in the dressing room," said Brooking. "Jermain and David Connolly up front get a lot of the headlines but Neil has worked very hard.
"With Jermain suspended for the matches against Derby and Norwich, Neil can go into those games on the up.
"He is great lad and whoever has to work with him in his career will have a very willing individual."
