"The manager said I was close to playing against Southampton in the last round and that I would play in future rounds if the team progressed," he said.
"He told me at the weekend I would be starting against Ipswich and I was excited ever since.
"I was very nervous in the first half," he admitted. "I needed the other players to help me along and make sure I got through it ok. It took me a while to settle down."
