Liverpool midfielder Patrick Berger has revealed that he will quit the club when his contract expires in the summer.

Although the Czech could leave in January when the transfer window re-opens, he's decided to cash in and walk on a Bosman free in the summer.

"It's definite that I'll go somewhere else but it will be in July next year when my contract with Liverpool runs out," said Beger.

"I won't go earlier than that. I'm not even considering a winter move.
"Why would I extend a contract at a club where I don't play and I'm not even on the substitute's bench?"
