Midfielders not facing charges

Gerrard accidentally stamped on Kevin Nolan and Sissoko fouled El-Hadj Diouf but the FA will not take any action against the Liverpool midfielders despite the bleating from Sam Allardyce because the referee saw both incidents.

An FA spokesman said: "Referee Mark Clattenburg has confirmed to us that he saw both incidents during the game." Since the referee saw the incidents video evidence cannot be used against the players.
