Minute's silence to be held at Anfield

A minute's silence will fall on Anfield prior to kick-off on Wednesday evening in memory of those who died at the World Trade Centre last year.

The Premier League and Football League had shelved the idea, instead deciding that the silence should only be held throughout the country on the 11th. However, a last minute u-turn should now see 8 Premier League fixtures and 9 League Cup fixtures all pay their own respects on Wednesday.
