Mixed feelings for Ablett

The reserves extended their lead at the top of the Premier League North to eight points with Tuesday's 1-0 win over Bolton but a fine first half display was followed by a limp second half one admitted Ablett.

"It was surprising really how well we played in the first half and yet we were so poor in the second. We were like chalk and cheese really," the reserve team coach told liverpoolfc.tv.

"We never got going in the second half and we were very flat which was disappointing but we are a very young team and are still learning. We probably played our poorest 45 minutes of the season so far but yet still won.

"The positive is Daniel [Agger] played another game and came through it with no problems. He wanted to play for longer but that is the amount of time we had agreed he would play with the medical staff and the doctor. The other positive to take from it was we kept another clean sheet."
