There were initial fears that Sissoko could lose the sight in that eye and never play again. However, those fears have now eased slightly and the club are hopeful the Mali international will soon be playing again.
"The progress is encouraging. The player was examined on Thursday morning by a leading eye specialist who remains optimistic. Momo has been instructed to rest completely and will be examined again by the specialist next week." said a club spokesman.
