Sissoko underwent surgery on his shoulder after picking up an injury in the Reds' Carling Cup win over Birmingham City. The operation was a success and the club hopes to see Sissoko back in training very soon.

"The surgeons always say everything is fantastic but after two weeks we will see if he can move the shoulder or the arm. For two weeks he won't do anything, then after maybe he will do some cycling or something. We will come up with a specific training programme, and he will also improve his English if he can. We will need to wait maybe two or three months," Rafael Benitez told liverpoolfc.tv.
